Donald Baechler
Along with Keith Haring, Basquiat and Kenny Scharf, Baechler started showing his works in New York’s 80s, during the graffiti art boom. “An abstract artist before anything else”, he makes paintings and collages crowded with cartoon imagery or images similar to childhood art, that bring out his serious concerns about lines, forms and balance. The result is a visceral, intense body of work.
